Ayant réalisé une maquette de design pour le site OpenOffice.org (non commercial), j'aimerai la leur proposer... Mais j'ai bien peur que mon anglais soit catastrophique...
Aussi, pourriez-vous traduire mon petit courriel ?

OpenOffice.org is an office management program about which I cannot say enough good things, as it is such a complete and excellent alternative to Microsoft Office.
However, the basic design of the site is not as eye-catching as it should be, nor as good as such a site deserves, for example, like that of the foundation Mozilla (mozilla.org). Since I am not a programmer and therefore cannot help in this way, I would nonetheless love to contribute to the Open Office venture by taking part in creating a new model for the design of the OpenOffice.org site.

yes, but later. I have to leave for the airport soon...

But, in brief, we are moving on two things:
* change in homepage picture
* change in overall homepage design

For the former, there are rules, so that a) it doesn't seem arbitrary
what I pick, and b) so that we can get relevant not merely pretty
pictures up there

For the latter, also rules, but creativity is encouraged.

I have to post to website these rules, etc. And I won't be able to do it
until I return from holiday, early next year. I'm also the website
project lead, along with Kay Schenk.

Je rajoute que je n'ai pas bien compris quel est le genre de réponse que Louis attend de moi après son dernier message, même si j'ai à peu près pigé ce dernier...

Le passage "For the former, there are rules, so that a) it doesn't seem arbitrary
what I pick, and b) so that we can get relevant not merely pretty
pictures up there" me reste un peu mystérieux...

Pour le premier il y'a des regles afin que a) mes choix ne semblent pas faits au hasard ou d'une maniere arbitraire et b) nous pouvons poster ci-dessus les images qui ne sont pas seulement belles mais aussi relevantes
