Hi !
Could you please check this essay for me ? That's a part of a letter I have to send to my future host family... That would be much appreciated !Thanks ! Elisa I’m the eldest of a three child family: Eglantine, 10 years old, and Timothée (a boy !), 11 years old. Given the age gap, we rarely argue. I have more or less the same musical tastes as my brother, and we share our experience of college...My sister confides to me her problems, her little daily anecdotes...I listen to her, advise her at times. I share with my father his passion for theatre. He’s a comedian, and I integrated a theatre form in my lycée, so it’s one of our favourite themes of discussion. My connexion with my mother is more complicated, but I don’t think there’s any wonder in that: it seems that it’s adolescence ! I don’t confide much in her, but I know she understands me-here’s the main thing-. Together, we talk about my future, about life as it actually is and about how we wish it was. She’s a woman I greatly admire.) I’ve been lucky to meet incredible friends in my lycee. We have a very singular relationship, very strong. I feel quite well integrated in my peer group, we all share approximately the same thinking wavelength; we are all fond of theatre, we love travelling and meeting people, we are all ready to enjoy life… all shocked by this world’s injustice and resolute to not become “passive grown-up”...(we invented nothing: that’s it, the famous “energy of youth” !) I have no clear “status”, “part” in my group; the one who advises, the one who manages or anything like this: we appreciate each other and we make plans, that’s all. |

Is the father a comedian or an actor and what did you mean by theater form? Sincerely, Claude |

Hi !
Thank you very much for your answer ! The father is a comedian... In my lycee, we have to choose an "extra-subject", an "option", that we must study and then take it at our A-levels. You can choose music, italian, spanish, russian, chinese, social sciences, or drama (theater ?) -it's rather rare, my lycee is a bit special- I have 9 hours theater (history of theater, acting techniques, performance, improvising...) by week, and we go to plays. Thanks !!!Elisa |

Hi,
In American colleges, I believe what you have described is called "elective credits". You could say "At college, I took the theater class as elective credits." Sincerely, Claude |
