This is the topic of my essay :
"Is man wearing out the planet? Are there reasons for gloom or for hope?" And this is my essay but I would like you to addict an idea and to make it shorter because I have to write only 350 words and there are more than 400... without the conclusion! By the way, if you've got an idea for a conclusion, don't hesitate ! "Global warming is on today's agenda. Nowadays it is often said that the planet is in danger because of human activities, which may be a threat to the environment. How could humankind destroy the world ? What should be done to save natural resources and to avoid the environmental damages ? Of course it needs looking into if we don't want our kinds to live on a devastated Earth. On the one hand, human activities are certainly accountable of for an environmental disaster. Indeed, as humans we have been lived living beyond our means for twenty years, consuming more resources than the planet can sustainably produce. In fact, the main human priority is the economic growth and the output. All is made to increase productivity gains and profitability. Thus, when people neglet neglect environmental dangers and want to earn still more money, that's why they, we jeopardize the planet by forgetting the secondary consequences of our actions. On the other hand, the weight of responsibility for the environmental damage in the world does not measure equally on everyone. Although the current demand is twenty-five percent greater than the planet's ability to produce resources and recover from human waste, not everyone on the globe is turning resources into waste faster than nature can turn waste into resources. Indeed, if Americans represent four percent of the world's population, they are the main resources consumers with twenty-five percent of the world's oil's consumption. If everyone lived as like those in America, we would need five planets to support us ! Finally, we can solve many environmental issues, but not all at one once. That's why we need priorities. First, it would be better if the United States pursued new solutions such as hybrid cars instead of invade invading Iraq, bullis bullying Venezuela or and so on, according to the executive director of the Sierra Club Carl Pope. In addition, in order to ensure the planet continues to support us, the President of the conservation group World Wildlife Fund (WWF) recommends cutting the use of fossil fuels. Moreover, avoidance of toxic chemicals, performing responsible irrigation and use of farming pracise practices like terracing will protect land from problems like soil erosion and pollution. However, it is inevitable that this disconnect will limit the abilities of poor countries to develop and for rich countries to maintain their prosperity."
