Il est reconnu que les nouvelles technologies, en particulier l'accès à internet, tendent à modifier la communication entre les différents acteurs du monde professionnels, notamment : les relations entre l'entreprise et les clients, le fonctionnement interne de l'entreprise, la relation de l'entreprise avec ses partenaires et ses différents fournisseurs.
It is recognized that the new technologies, in particular the access to internet, tend to modify the communication between the various professional actors of the world, notably: the relations between the company and the customers, the functioning interns of the company, the relation of the company with his(her) or its? partners and his(her, its) various suppliers.

On appelle ainsi « e-Business » l'intégration au sein de l'entreprise d'outils basés sur les technologies de l'information et de la communication (on parle généralement de progiciel) pour en améliorer le fonctionnement afin de créer de la valeur pour elle-même, pour ses clients et pour ses partenaires.

Le e-Business ne s'applique donc plus aux seules entreprises virtuelles (appelées click and mortar) fondant l'essentiel de leur activité sur le Net mais également aux entreprises traditionnelles (dites brick and mortar, faites de brique et de ciment).

The e-business does not thus apply any more to the only virtual companies (called click and mortar) basing the main part of their activity on the Net but also to the traditional companies (said brig and mortar, make of brick and cement).

Le terme e-Commerce (appelé également Commerce électronique), souvent confondu avec le terme de e-Business, ne désigne en réalité qu'une facette du e-Business couvrant l'utilisation d'un support électronique pour la relation commerciale d'une entreprise avec des particuliers.

The term e-trades (called also E-commerce), often confused(merged) with the term of e-business, really indicate(appoint) only a facet of the e-business covering the use of an electronic support for the commercial relation of a company with private individuals.
