I have to write a letter for my English Lesson. Can you correct it please ? Thank you !

Dear Richard,

I hope you are all well. Unfortunately, I have the blues. Do you know that my twin children missed one year at the university ? They never study ! I looked after them during their childhood but at the moment, they grew up. They don’t listen to me. For example, they dropped up their student job because they didn’t want to get up early in the morning during the weekend. I was taken aback ! After all, I am obliged to pay their studies ! Anyway, my wife is going to lose her work. Although she do a good work, her boss is going to lay she off. At first, she got on with him. However, she fell out because of a toothpaste ! Now, he his angry with her. On the other hand, I’m really bored at work. I have been teaching for 30 years ! At least I earn money… But the pupils are dissipated more and more. I would like to give up my job, but at 49 years old, I couldn’t find another job ! Of course the retirement will arrive soon, but I think that I couldn’t wait. Moreover, I often dispute with my wife. I think that she wants to leave me. Ho my friend, why don’t you write to me ? I need friendship to get over my depression. The routine take of my life ! The telephone was made up in 1876. So, why don’t you give me a call ? Lastly, I am annoyed that you live so far. Can I live in your home during a few days ? Please write back soon.

they dropped up : depends of meaning of above term, but I think you mean "dropped out of"

in English, I don't know . In American, that word is correct but archaic. I was taken by surprise, or that took me by surprise is better.
