Ma traduction en anglais:(une vraie cata) Pharmacology: more than 4 000 complaints have been registred Merck sentence for its medecine-"vedette" (je sais pas comment traduire "vedette" en 1 seule mot") After having brought back a lot of money to Merck, the vioxx, its medecine-"vedette", could cost it a lot. On friday, the american laboratory has been sentenced by a federal court (or cote) in Texas to pay more than 250 million dollars to Robert Ernst's widowed. Victim of a heart "arythmie"(je n'ai pas trouvé de traduction pour désigner ces irrégularitées du rythme cardiaque dans mon dictionnaire), he was died in 2001 at the age of 59 years. He used to take an "anti-inflammatory from Merck for 8 months to relieve his hand pain. It could only be the first episode of a long chapter of problems/accidents for Merck. More than 4 000 complaints/actions have been registred in world wide against this medecine about which the team was going to get from the sale in september 2004. The proceedings have also started in Europe, in Canada, and in Brazil. About a hundred Australians are going to "déposer"(je ne vois pas comment le dire en terme juridique) a class action, that is to say a collective complaint. Merck spokesmen, whose action (je pense ici que c'est le terme économique mais je n'ai pas trouvé de traduction) has "decreased" by 7.73% in Wall Street on friday, are proved to be confident to be able to change this sentence in an appeal. According to one of the team barrister, " It does not exist any scientist evidence showing that the Vioxx is responsable for heart "arythmies", which an autopsy prooved that it had caused Mr.Ernst death".The defendant of the litigant has estimated that the laboratory behaved in an "inexpressible and awful/appalling way selling Vioxx several months after having discoverd that the medecine could cause/provoke health problems". voila ... j'espère que vous pourrez m'aider une peu...(c'est pour vendredi). merci |

Heya
![]() Well, lets see this ![]() Pharmacology: more than 4 000 complaints have been registered Merck sentenced for its famous medicine (je sais pas comment traduire "vedette" en 1 seule mot") If I get you right, I'd translate "médicament vedette" like this. And by the way, it's "medicine" and not medecine ![]() After having brought back a lot of money to Merck, the vioxx, its famous medicine, could cost a lot. On friday, the american laboratory has been sentenced by a federal court (or cote) in Texas to pay over 250 million dollars to Robert Ernst's widowed. Victim of heart arrhythmia (Fd said it alright ), he died in 2001 at the age of 59. Say "At the age of 59", or "at 59 years". He used to take an anti-inflammatory medicine (careful, in english anti-inflammatory is an adjective, and not used as a noun as it is in french) from Merck for 8 months to relieve his hand pain. It could only be the first episode of a long chapter of incidents for Merck. More than 4 000 complaints have been registered all around the world against this medecine which made the laboratory get it removed from the market in september 2004. The procedures have also started in Europe, in Canada, and in Brazil. About a hundred Australians are going to lodge a class action, in other words a collective complaint. Sorry I have no time to read the rest, I have to do some things right now. Hopefully someone else will correct your last paragraph ![]() Good luck, Cov Last edited by Covered; 04-05-2006 at 10:28 AM. |

![]() I am giving a try to the last paragraph Merck spokesmen, whose stock (c'est stock le mot économique, il y a aussi share ) has "decreased" by 7.73% in Wall Street on friday, are proved to be confident to be able to change this sentence in an appeal. According to one of the team barrister, " It does not exist any scientist evidence showing that the Vioxx is responsable for heart arrhythmias that caused the death of Mr.Ernst as prooved by the autopsy".The defendant of the litigant has estimated that the laboratory behaved in an "inexpressible and awful/appalling way selling Vioxx several months after having discoverd that the medicine could cause/provoke health problems". |

FD toujours aussi serviable
![]() je vais rajouter aux siennes d'autres suggestions de corrections pour le dernier paragraphe : There is no scientific evidence showing that the Vioxx is responsable for heart arrhythmias that caused the death of Mr.Ernst as proved by the autopsy".The defendant of the litigant has estimated that the laboratory behaved in an "inexpressible and awful/appalling way selling Vioxx several months after having discovered that the medicine could cause/provoke health problems". pour "vedette", que pensez vous de "flagship" ? |
