Dominique Strauss-Kahn. Je la conteste si l’économie de marché devait à elle seule organiser la société ! L’économie de marché produit des richesses – et c’est sa supériorité sur le socialisme de la pénurie que nous avons connu avec l’URSS, la Chine, l’Europe de l’Est ou Cuba. Mais la logique du marché ne peut pas intégrer tous les aspects de la vie humaine. Il ne faut pas confondre la légitime recherche d’une gestion la plus efficace possible et la volonté de tout faire entrer dans le domaine marchand.
L’éducation, la santé, la Sécurité sociale, les services publics, l’aménagement du territoire procèdent de l’intérêt général. Souvent le marché ne sait pas en tenir compte et parfois, quand bien même il le saurait, il ne le peut pas parce qu’il fonctionne mal.



Quelle différence y a-t-il aujourd’hui entre la droite et la gauche ?

Jamais le débat n’a été aussi clair. La ligne de démarcation aussi nette. Nicolas Sarkozy a fixé comme but à l’UMP la rupture avec notre modèle et l’adaptation à marche forcée au modèle anglo-saxon.[/b]

But the market practice/the market principles can’t integrate (into?) all the sides of the human life. We musn’t mix up/ confuse the legitimate search/the rightful pursuit of the most effective running /management with the wish to fit everything in the market sector/the market field.
The education/ the State education, (the?) public health, the French Social Security/(laisser la Sécurité Sociale car système typiquement français?/the National Health Service, (the?)public services, (the?) town and country planning come from/proceed from (the,) general interest. The market often doesnt’ take notice of this/ The market often doesn’t take this into account and sometimes, even though it would do it, it can’t because the market isn’t working/isn’t reliable.

Today, what difference is there between the right and the left?

The debate/discussion has never been as clear/obvious as it is today. The boundary (line) has never been as marked/pronounced as today. Nicolas Sakozy’s aim concerning the UMP is the breaking off/the rupture with our model and the adaptation on the fast track to the Anglo-Saxon model.// Nicolas Sarkozy fixed/set the UMP a target which is the rupture with our model.....

But every market standard can’t make it into every aspect of human life. We musn’t mix up the allowable quest of a most effective management with the will to integrate everything in the market field.
Scolarship, healthcare, public health, public services, town and country planning belong to general interests. Most of the time free market doesn't take this into account and sometimes, even though it would, it can’t do it properly because free market isn’t reliable enough.
