This will be an unusual post on this forum ;

Recently I purchased a Jazz DVD on which Duke Ellington makes a
short and enigmatic speech , which I captured from the disc and
transformed into an mp3 file ;

that can be downloaded from :

I simply cannot make out some words , I even tried to slow down
the speech using the resources of Sound Forge 6 ;
However I keep unable to hear it and understand some words ;

Please feel free to download the file , hear it , and be so kind
to correct my bellow transcription :

Here is what I understood:

When all our pulses beat ensemble

We're swinging Chart of Faith (not sure of this one)

But one tailgatin' false alarm

Does not togetherness make.


So take it from the top...and bop

And blow down through the bottom

Let not the jamming ever stop

Until you know you've got 'em.

Hey Thank you very much
I think you came very close ;
It´s very difficult for me sometimes to make out words voiced fast and jammed ;
I employed the stretch time tool of Sound Forge (audio editor program ) but even slowed I was unable to understand all the words pronounced by Duke Ellington ;

it's very close to karaoke's

here is what he said:

But I really cannot say what would be the best between karaoke's and our transcription since Duke is quite tough to understand.
His music is much easier to understand though

May I ask you what dvd it comes from?

I am concerned about my hearing capability ,am I going deaf ?
I´ve been a couple of hours trying to understand Duke´s enigmatic speech , even with sound forge´s resource to slow down the speech without changing the pitch of the voice , I could not make out most of the words ;
I am feeling frustrated ;
Regarding the DVD , it´s a tribute to Louis Armstrong who passed away a year before this concert recording session in 1972 at the Philarmonic Hall of Linconl Center NY and features celebrities of the jazz such as Ella Fitzgerald , Duke Ellington , Countie Basie , Paul Desmond , Dave Brubeck , Benny Goodman , Lionel Hampton , Dizzy Gillespie ; the title is All Stars Swing Festival , a tribute to Louis Armstrong (Multi Media Group ) ;
