And how do you say "I love you"? I've ran into several versions so...
"I hope this will be useful to you" Dufam ze Ti toto bude uzitocne...
more commonly used:
"I hope this will help you" Dufam ze Ti toto pomoze...

"I love you" - Mam Ta rada
more strong: Milujem Ta

Many thanks...especially for the speedy reply...
(and I'm sorry it took me so long to thank you...)

However, I have another thing to ask...something I forgot the other day...
What is Slovak for "Happy Birthday"?

And a question about this "I love you" stuff...I ran into several translations of the phrase, including "Ľubim ťa"...is that correct as well? I mean, what's the difference...?

And thank you again, I know I'm a bother...

happy bday is literally translated "vesele narodeniny" or "stastne narodeniny"
but this is not the common greeting. We say: "Vsetko najlepsie ku Tvojim narodeninam" it means "best wishes for your bday"

Yes "lubim ta" is also correct. Not exactly sure about the differences.
"mam ta rada" is from a verb that is also used for LIKING something.
So lubim is probably a stonger word. and milujem even stronger i guess.

Thank you, again...

I was confused because I know some Croatian...and it's somewhat similar to Slovak...
And in Croatian "lubim ta" would correspond to the act of kissing and "milujem ta" to the act of carressing...
I just didn't want to get it wrong...

Thank you very, very much
*bows respectfully*

[quote=The Concrete Mixer;133160]Thanks a lot. So if I understand it well, you don't know the next words in Slovakian

• Internetcafe - internetová kaviareň
• ATM (=cash machine) - bankomat
• Karaoke - karaoke
• Fastfood - rýchle občerstvenie
• Soda - sóda
• Shopping mall - nákupné centrum
• Supermarket - supermarket

I am a native speaker of Slovak and these terms are probably more widely used then the English ones.
