My wife and I will be traveling to Lithuania this summer to see her cousins. We only found out a few years ago that she had cousins there.

I sent them a brief mail messages translated into Russian. Below is there response in Lithuanian.

Is this proper use of this forum to see if someone could translate it for me?

I am planning to take my vacations at the beginning of July so I could spend more time with You and for your traveling in Lithuania. Gintaras has a homestead on the lake of Daugai and you could stay there for several nights. The lake is big enough and you could take a motor boat or wooden boat trip around it, we could build a fire and make some grill on it. You could also meet Brone and Stasys there. The trusth is that Stasys is now in hospital – he had a hard heart attack. But he is getting better and we hope he‘ll come home soon. From Daugai we are planning to go to Druskininkai, Lithuanian resort town. We could visit a museum of monuments of soviet idols Lenin, Stalin and others. We are planning to spend two days in Vilnius, capital of Lithuania. Donna has seen many things in Vilnius during the last visit, but for Joe everything will be new. Much thanks for your help with the Lithuanian to English translation! Can you or someone assist with this response? We travel to the Baltics on 23-Jun. This (and one or two more) correspondences will help finalize arrangements with my wife's relatives in Lithuania.

We are sorry to hear about Stasys. From the translation we do not know how serious he is. We hope Stasys is at home and recovering quickly.

We continue to plan for our trip. Cousin Peter Little decided to join us for a weekend. Peter flies into Vilnius on Friday, 01-Jul (12:20), and leaves on Monday, 04-Jul (14:20). That weekend would be a good time to see all of the family. Peter also expressed interest in seeing the old town of Vilnius.

We are currently reserving accommodations in Estonia and Latvia.

We would like to visit Vilnius, Trakai, Rumsiskes Open Air Museum and Kaunas. Your suggestion to visit Druskininkai and Kernave also sound good. We thought it would be nice to attend a concert some evening. All our plans are flexible and can be changed.

We might rent a small car for the trip. If we do not rent, do you have a car for driving all of us around? This information will help us make our plans.

Above all, we want to visit with you and your families. Do you know what day we could see Brone and Stasys? Would Saturday or Sunday, when Peter is there, be possible? I would like to hire an interpreter for that day.
