Hi -
I am looking to have a passage from the book, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil translated from English to German. LADY CHABLIS: "It's like my mother always said: Two tears in a bucket, motherf*** it" I believe I have correctly translated the first part: "Es ist, wie meine Mutter immer gesagt hat: Zwei Risse in Einem Eimer..." I hope someone can help me with the motherf*** it part. I don't know how to translate it other than breaking down each word which I assume isn't correct 'slang'. Thanks, E |

The real saying is: "Two tears in a bucket, mother fuck it."
It roughly means: "Shit happens, but we carry on." I can't think of a saying in German, using that kind of slang ... Word by word it would be translated: "Zwei Risse im Eimer, Mutter scheiß drauf!" But it doesn't make any sense. Hope, I could help. Tilo |
