I hope I'm putting this in the correct forum (was debating between here and the English one).

I am looking for someone to translate a German newspaper article for an Alternate Reality Game that I am playing. All I have is a picture of the article. I actually need to have the whole thing translated. I don't speak a word of German, and my attempt to get Babelfish to translate failed miserably since I kept spelling words wrong. An exact translation would be the most helpful, but a general overview of the article would work as well.

Well, my English is a little too limited for a exact translation. I hope I managed to do something understandable. Of course, it's no exact translation, but if it gives you already some idea...

Last night, police arrested presumed art thief Gunter Banderwine in the Emden harbour. Police forces have been looking for Banderwine, 38 years old, in relation with a serie of Museum robberies which have taken place in all the UE in late 2003 and beginning 2004.

"We have been told, he might be in the area", head of the local police Helik Kunderson explained. "After a check of his profile, we found out he was staying in the Hotel Vindern under an alias he already used in Italy. After a second check of his identity, we arrested the presumed thief."

But Banderwinde wouldn't surrender that easily. He somehow noticed the presence of the police forcs entering the hotel, escaped through the door to the roof and made his way over the roofs into a nearby building. Police located him as he left the building a few minutes later, and chased him to a car warehouse in the harbour area.

"He run as if his life was on the line", secuity agent Andi Goldamnn told. "I assume this is true. He hit me in the face and locked himself in our warehouse. As I recovered, policemen were all over the place. They caught him as he tried to escape with one of the new cars."

Banderwinde is accused of several offences and is retained in Emden.

Oh that is perfect! Thank you. It answers some questions I have been having about game (namely why Gunter was in the warehouse. The game revolves around finding the information he hid in several Audis - which are now spread across the United States. The coolest part is we get to actually meet the characters from the game and retrieve the information ourselves).
