Well, my friend....ignorant is the man who judges the others as if he was better, more intelligent or in a high position. Poor of spirit who thinks that way.

Hiyya there!!!
I'm Indian and am very very touched with your feelings and sentiments towards our language/s and culture! Well, just to inform you'll, India has 15 regional languages and thousands (Im not exaggerating,I swear!!) of dialects... It's really fascinating for everyone...but we Indians tend to take it for granted (unfortunately) Not just that, learnin a foreign language is commercially beneficial....Who has the time and energy to spend behind something that has no monetary benefits (is the sentiment echoing throughout) ... And Xul, We Hindus....or I should say Indians (Hindus wud be very casteist(??) ) are neither Ignorant nor poor... Check out the latest Rich men list in any forbes or similar biznes mag...I guarantee u, there'll be atleast 4/10 Indians!! Everyone thinks we're a poor country, cuz that's what is always highlighted in the media...The poverty, the homeless, the beggars...But my country is a lot more beyond that too... Thanks for your sensitivity!! Thnx to u too, Nana!! |

Welcome Filet..
But let me explain here to all.. when I mentioned "poor" I meant about the language and not the people, of course I know Filet is saying about Xul`s comments but I`d like to explain it.I could never say that about the others, mainly because Brazil has a big poor side. |

Of course I know the meaning of ignorant,
My meaning by ignorant is the language is spoken by ignorant person. Do you look up dictionary? in my dictionary,it has 5 meanings: 1 Lacking education or knowledge. 2 Showing or arising from a lack of education or knowledge: 3 An ignorant mistake. 4 Unaware or uninformed. 5 A language spoken by ignorant people So everyone has something unknow in any language even in his native language Last edited by xul; 06-29-2005 at 02:18 AM. |
