Does anyone know what "askara wa harramiyya" is and how it is made. Askara wa harramiyya literally means "cops and robbers" so there's not much to go on, but I do know it is made in Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine and that it is a vegetable dish.

Actually, what I know is the " 3askar and 7aramiyyah" game
, called in Morocco " Sheffara wel bolis".The players are devided to two teams, and one chases the other. I've never heard about that as a dish!! |

Someone told me another forum that it's Masbahet al Darwish but without the meat. Any thoughts on why this dish might be renamed askara wa harramiyya?
