Hi
My father and I are building a website about our family story. I just wanted to know how to prevent some pictures from being copied widely (I'm using frontpage)
If anyone can answer me...

voilà je voudrais savoir comment on fait pour protéger la copie de photos ou de parties de texte sur un site web. J'utilise Frontpage.
Tout conseil est le bienvenu.

Does the pictures have to be seen by everybody ? If it's the case, there are no really solution. You can paste text on the picture with for example the URL of the website. You have to know that the photographer owns each picture he does, so if you did the pictures, you can remember that fact on the website by using a sentence like 'cannot be copied without authorisation'.... and you can ask each person using it illegally to remove it from their website for example.

I just asked this question because i have seen on some sites that the the copy button was disabled for some pics. I wondered how they did that.

That is a javascript solution... that does not really work as you can

-use firefox, and disable javascript (or even with JS enabled, you can copy with Firefox)
-with Internet explorer, display the source, make a search for "img" and see the Urls for each image

Sorry but there's NO solution.
Even Javascript ...
The visitor always can make a print screen and use it with a software ...

Désolé, mais il n'y a AUCUNE solution.
Le visiteur peut à tout moment effectuer une capture d'écran (printscreen) et retravailler avec un logiciel de photo/dessin
