translation needed- urgent
Can anyone help translating the French word "un discutant", commonly used at conferences for the person in charge of discussing, criticizing, underlining some aspects of the lecture?

I didn't know this word in French !! :-S and the first word I think about in English could be : a critic and in French it's "un critique"

Bonjour.
Le mot "un discutant" : ce mot n'existe pas en français. Seul le participe "discutant" existe. Dans une conférence je proposerais soit un intervenant [qui intervient dans la discussion], soit un conférencier [qui présente un sujet]. Cordialement.  |

Thanks a lot.
Actually, the English is " a discussant". Je sais bien que le mot "un discutant " est inconnu des dictionnaires français, mais c'est pourtant le terme utilisé lors des conférences... |

Je suis bien d'accord! Mais le fait est que le teme est utilisé couramment à l'université...
Je n'approuve pas mais je n'ai guère le choix! Un autre cas. Ici, tout le monde parle de projet "tutoré". Le mot n'existe pas, c'est un anglicisme. Je corrige en "tuteuré" qui au moins existe, même si c'est uniquement un terme arboricole. Disons que c'est une image. Je crois bien être la seule prof à faire attention à ça! |
