In the wake of the Wessexgate affair, we ar promied a thorough review of roles and responsibilities of mino royals. WElcome though this is, it woul be wishful to hold out much hope of radical reform since the review is to be carried t by the Royal Faily itself.


Since Parliament has an aversion - both instinctive and consitutional - to discussing the monarchy it may be a job best eft to the committees.

All committees have the powers "to send fr persons, papers and records".
