Je viens de découvrir ce forum, et c'est sympa comme aide, vraiment. D'ailleurs je me suis pas inscrit pour rien: je dois rendre mon mémoire de stage la semaine prochaine, et j'ai le résumé à traduire en anglais (celui qui est au tout début!).

Alors bien entendu, je ne demande a personne de tout me traduire, je l'ai fait moi même, mais j'ai personne assez calé sous la main pour savoir si il y a des fautes. Et comme je suis pas un expert de l'anglais, je crie HELP! Voici le texte (un peu long certes... ):

Le Gard est un département fortement exposé aux risques d’inondations, comme l’on a pu malheureusement le constater lors des crues de 1997 et 2002. Sa situation géographique, sa morphologie ainsi que l’urbanisation inconsidérée proche des cours d’eau sont autant de facteurs qui conduisent à des conséquences parfois dramatiques lors des crues d’automne. Dès 1994 des mesures ont été engagées dans la prévention de ce risque. Mais suite aux inondations de 2002 et son lourd bilan, les services de l’Etat ont décidé d’actualiser le programme de cartographie des risques naturels prévisibles.

Le Plan de Prévention des Risques d’Inondations (PPRI) du Gardon d’Alès permet ainsi de préciser par voie réglementaire la connaissance du risque naturel, de le prendre en compte dans l'aménagement et de poser les bases d'une réflexion globale sur la prévention, la sécurité des biens et des personnes et le développement économique des communes.


L’étude réalisée va permettre de délimiter des zones exposées au risque d’inondations sur le bassin versant du Gardon d’Alès. Une étude hydrologique adaptée à la région a permis dans un premier temps de déterminer, en accord avec la DDE du Gard, les débits de référence pour chaque cours d’eau. Les modélisations hydrauliques réalisées durant le stage tiennent bien évidemment compte de ces débits, mais également des observations faites lors des anciennes crues. Les résultats obtenus ont permis de réaliser les premières cartes d’aléa, accompagnées d’une ébauche de règlement, qui devront être validées par les services de l’Etat ainsi que les communes concernées. Cela aboutira à l’élaboration d’un zonage réglementaire et d’un règlement visant à ne pas aggraver la vulnérabilité des zones à enjeux. Ce mémoire propose également une réflexion sur les difficultés rencontrées lors d’études aussi longues.

Its geographical situation, its morphology as well as the mindless urbanization close to streams are so many factors which lead to sometimes dramatic consequences during the autumn floods. From 1994 the measures were engaged in the prevention of this risk. But further to the floods of 2002 and its heavy balance sheet, the State services decided to update the program of cartography of the predictable natural risks.

The Prevention Plan of Floods Risks (in French: PPRI) of the Gardon d’Alès so allows to clarify by statutory way the knowledge of the natural risk, to take it into account in the urban development and to put the bases of a global reflection on the prevention, the safety of goods and persons and the economic development of the municipalities.

The study is going to allow to bound zones exposed at floods risk on the catchment basin of the Gardon d’Alès. A hydrological study adapted to the region allowed at first to determine, in agreement with the DDE of the Gard, the reference flows for every stream. The hydraulic modellings realized during the training naturally take into account these flows, but also observations made during the former floods. The obtained results allowed to realize the first maps of risk, accompanied with a sketch of regulation, which must be validated by the State services as well as the concerned municipalities. That will lead to the drafting of a lawful zoning and a regulation aiming at not worsening the vulnerability of the zones with stakes. This memory also proposes a reflexion on the difficulties encountered at the time of so long studies.
