Bonjour,

[quote=Luluberlu;228264]Bonjour,
Est-il possible de traduire cette chanson : Blue Roses Merci The red of your lips Flashes with tenderness She believes that happiness Still lives in the depths of the heart And she goes out every night To cry alone in the bars The scent of a perfume Reminds her of someone Refrain: === Blue Roses I see the light in your eyes Blue Roses I want to believe that people can be happy Blue Roses Let’s live this magic moment Blue Roses I want to be a tear in your eye Just one drink, just one dance You are my last chance I need you so much And when the night stretches out before us And my heart begs you To love me, to warm me Love has steered us To the bed of the broken hearted This is a difficult song to translate, because if you look at it literally, it is rather disjointed and confused. It starts out in the second person, switches almost at once to the third, then becomes first person in the refrain and the second verse. The refrain seems to have no connection with the verses, and the title even less with anything. Since it happens to be one of my all-time favourite songs, I put a lot of work into making sense out of what is essentially nonsense where the lyrics are concerned. Here’s the result. Blue Roses She doesn’t go there to drink. It’s just that she’s desperate to escape the oppressive loneliness of an empty apartment. It’s not always the same bar, either. If her table in the corner is occupied, she’ll go on down the street to another place. Tonight she’s been working on the same beer for 3 hours. It’s late, and now the long lonely night looms cold and ugly ahead. The crowd has thinned down to a couple of good old boys on stools at the bar, swapping fishing lies, an out-of-towner hunched over his sixth or seventh glass of wine, and the cowboy a few tables away, whose scotch on the rocks has long since turned into tepid watered whiskey. Her tears are all cried out for tonight. The juke box has been playing hurting songs all evening - Brel, Bigras, Boulay, then Reba and Rebecca-Lynn. Now it’s Dani Daraiche. She looks at the cowboy, doodling aimless patterns on the table top with the condensation from his glass, then looks away quickly as he meets her glance. Not so quickly, though, that she fails to see the ocean of hurt behind his eyes. She stares down into the last finger of beer in her own glass, then looks up as a shadow falls across it. The cowboy is standing there, arms folded, looking down at her. “He’s not all that good looking, is he?” she thinks to herself. “And he’s a good bit younger than me. Strong looking, though. Nice masculine body in that suede jacket and faded Levis.” “Blue roses...” Dani croons. “Tu dances?” She hesitates, searches his face for some hint of motivation, sees again the pain behind the eyes, and downs the dregs of her glass. Standing up, she lets him take her by the hand to the tiny dance floor. He turns towards her, and looks at her face, the red rimmed eyes, the puffy nose, and his eyes are drawn to her mouth. The lips, still moist from the last mouthful of beer, sparkle in the neon twilight, aching to be kissed. “Le rouge de tes lèvres a l’éclat de la tendresse ...” She leans into his embrace, nestling her head on his shoulder, her cheek against the soft suede. An unexpected surge, not quite of joy, but at least of hope, sets her heart beating a little faster, as her nose is filled with his cologne, a fragrance she recalls all too well and too painfully. “Elle croit que le bonheur se vit au fond du coeur. L’odeur de son parfum Lui rapelle quelqu’un ...” The music comes to a stop, and the juke-box falls silent. In the protective circle of his arms she struggles to put down the little butterfly of hope still fluttering inside, then surrenders to it and whispers inaudibly into his lapel “Aime-moi. S’il te plaît, aime-moi.” He breaks the embrace, and she takes a step back. “Encore un verre?” he asks. She looks over to the corner where her table and his are. The glasses are gone, the tables wiped clean. Only her coat and purse remain to mark the spot. “Pas ce soir” she replies, and turns to get her coat. By the time she has it on, he is almost out the door. “Un seul verre, une seul danse Tu es ma dernière chance ...” Suddenly the thought of walking home alone to an empty apartment is overwhelmingly unbearable, and she rushes to catch up to him. “J’ai tant besoin de toi, Et quand la nuit nous devance Et que mon coeur te demande De m'aimer, de me réchauffer ...” “Tu m’accompagnes?” she asks, shyly, not daring meet his eyes. For answer, he takes her hand and opens the door. Outside, their breath comes out white clouds, and mingles to hang in the chill Gaspé night. For tonight, at least, neither of them will be alone. “L'amour nous a guidés Dans le lit des coeurs brisés.” “Blue roses Je vois la lumière dans tes yeux Blue roses Je veux croire que les gens sont heureux Blue roses Vivons cet instant si merveilleux Woh oh oh Blue roses Je veux être une larme dans tes yeux” |
