Past Perfect 1:
Merci. 1) a) He did not wait until we had finished our meal. He did not wait until we finished our meal. He had not waited until we finished our meal. __________________ 2) a) He refused to go until he had seen all the pictures. b) He had refused to go until he saw all the pictures. Il avait refusé de partir jusqu'à ce qu'il voie / vît toutes les photos. c) He refused to go until he saw all the pictures. He did not go until he saw all the pictures. He had not gone until he had seen all the pictures. (?) f) He had not gone until he saw all the pictures. (?) Hela |

Past Perfect 2:
Mêmes questions que ci-dessus. 3) a) Before we had finished our meal, he ordered us back to work. Before we finished our meal he had ordered us back to work. (?) He had ordered us back to work before we finished our meal. (?) (?) d) We had finished our meal before he ordered us back to work. After we had finished our meal, he ordered us back to work. __________________ 4) a) Before we had walked ten miles, he complained of sore feet. b) Before we walked ten miles he had complained of sore feet. Before we walked ten miles, he complained of sore feet. He had complained of sore feet before we walked ten miles. Before he complained of getting sore feet, we had walked ten miles. After we had walked ten miles, he complained of getting sore feet. Hela |

All this is getting to "technical" for me , I never was good at these nuances.
these 2 do not sound right in English: e) He had not gone until he had seen all the pictures. f) He had not gone until he saw all the pictures. ==== 3) a) & b & c OK in English 3d & e: both F & E: OK all #4 sounds OK in English & the meaning is clear to me in the French translation. No idea if verb forms are right or not. I have found these links, no idea if they could be useful to you: Websites to help you with your homework I will look for more. |

Like I said above, some of these links could be useful: Homework Assistance
Some are trying to sell you something, others seem to be free. I vaguely looked into this one, but did not go further than the first page: EduFind Online Test Centre "..... a resource section where you can work through fully interactive tests and educational games to improve your skills. Once you are registered you can also keep track of your test scores over time. The Test Centre can be used by individuals or classes and teachers ..... There is NO CHARGE .... " Plenty more - some could be useful. Here is where I started Google |
