Errr... We could, perhaps, but the word "inoubliable" has more positive "vibrations" than negative ones.

Well... I know I'm not clear...

You'll likely use "inoubliable" for a great souvenir even if you can use it for a bad one also.

@Francil:

I think, it depends on the people & their 'collection' of memories...

By the way, do you have any objections to 'un grand moment...'?

Yes, you're right... But think about how you would write about a painful moment of your life : Would you write Un moment inoubliable or une expérience traumatisante, un passage difficile, un mauvais moment à passer, etc...?

By the way, I wouldn't write on a card "un grand moment dans la vie". I think it's the "dans la vie" that I don't really like. However, I'm not a expert in French and I don't write cards really often...

I'd rather write in German about such a moment.

If you don't like 'dans la vie', then just leave it !
However, I'm not a expert in French
Isn't French your mother tongue?
and I don't write cards really often...
Neither do I.

Fortunately we are not supposed to write that card.

You cheater! Errr... Well, I mean your mother tongue is German ?

However, I'm not a expert in French

Isn't French your mother tongue?

Errr... (again) Actually yes, but I know the French language enough to be aware that being an expert is still really far from my level !

and I don't write cards really often...

Neither do I.

Fortunately we are not supposed to write that card.
Ouf!
