Chers profs,

1) Y a-t-il une transposition quelconque ici entre le frç et l’anglais ?

a) sell-by date / the best-by date = date limite de vente

b) the expiry date = date d’expiration

Anglais « sell » = verbe ? ou
« sell-by » = adjectif ?

Français « vente » = nom ?
ou « limite de vente » = adjectif ?

Idem pour « expiry » = adjectif
« expiration » = nom ?

2) Would you please give me some adjectives that can have 2 different meanings all together depending on the context?

e.g. a) Julia was a handsome, courageous, AND cunning woman.
Julia était une femme belle, courageuse ET habile / maligne. (sens positif)

b) Julia was a handsome, courageous, BUT cunning woman.
Julia était une femme belle, courageuse MAIS fourbe. (sens négatif)
