Bonjour, voilà, j'ai traduit un texte en anglais, mais il me reste quelques incertitudes et il faut absolument que ce texte soit impeccable, pourriez-vous m'aider à corriger les fautes, mauvaises tournures de phrases, ou expressions qui ne s'emploient pas en anglais?
(ex: fermer boutique: to close shop?// keep or guard//...)

- Why do trees lose their leaves?
In spring and in summer, the leaves of trees work a lot. They are true small factories to make the food of the tree! For that purpose, it is necessary to them of the air(sight), the water, the sun and the minerals of the ground. In winter, their work becomes much more complicated; days become shorter, thus, leaves receive fewer and fewer light (drawn from the ground)and can freeze and make impossible the access to minerals and to water herself(itself)! In brief, the life would be really very hard! That is why, the tree, which accumulated enough provisions for winter, prefers to close shop during some months and decides to get rid of its leaves. Why? Because if he(it) kept(guarded) them, they would continue to pretend of nothing, would consume some water when the ground is frozen, then, the inside of the tree would dry out and the tree would die!
Conifers, them, have very thrifty leaves (folded up in the form of needles and covered with a special coat(layer) which allows to pass only very few water) and can allow to keep(guard) them in winter.
In the regions where the ground never freezes, the question does not settle(arise), and trees keep(guard) their leaves all year long.



- How do trees get rid of their leaves?
Whereas colours change, the tree fills(blocks) all the small holes which are on the base of the leaf and by whom(which) the water and the sap circulated. It makes a piece of waterproof(impervious) bark, a sort of dike which forms and prevents the exchanges of water and food between the tree and the leaf.
This one stops then gradually being an alive part(party) of the tree. A shower, a strong blast or even a girl breaks at the end of the autumn and the spectacle is ended!

- Why do leaves change colour?
The green summer colour of leaves is due to the chlorophyll, a very strong green pigment which hides a yellow pigment, Present in the leaf. In autumn, deprived at the same moment of light and food (exchanges with the tree interrupted) leaves stop making some chlorophyll, then you see them turning yellow! Autumn leaves sometimes have red, orange-coloured, purple pigments, which hide completely or partially the yellow colour.
But these pigments act only if days are brightened up and cold nights. That is why leaves have colours more sensational certain years or in certain regions. Every sort of plant uses these pigments in various ways. It is what what makes all the variety of the colours which you can see on leaves in spring, in summer or in autumn.


- What become dead leaves?

Leaves died from trees in forests fall on the ground and cover the ground! Then, they rot to create some humus (or compost). The humus is an earth(ground) which will serve for feeding the trees of the forest from spring!
The leaves which arose from the earth(ground) and were nourishing trees, become too of the food which will serve for creating the other leaves et cetera! It is the cycle of the life!
