en bon français svp!
comment dire en bon francais "come to nothing"? Ce qui me vient a l'esprit c'est "tomber a l'eau" mais c'est trop familier, il me faut qqch de plus soutenu; voila ma phrase a traduire:
"We pray and beg the Lord not to let our hopes and expectations come to nothing." Thnaks!

j'ai traduit ma phrase en utilisant ton mot "vain", voila ce que ca donne:
"Nous prions et implorons le Seigneur afin qu’Il ne rende pas vains nos espoirs et nos attentes." Merci pour le mot "impasse" mais je le sens pas ici... Alors, qu'est-ce que tu penses de ma phrase?

T'as phrase est trés bien,
tu pourrais cpdt la tourner dans l'autre sens "Nous prions et implorons le Seigneur afin que nos espoirs et nos attentes ne restent pas vains." Mais bin là ça devient du chipotage
