Bonjour
The support to the exports of fruit and vegetables from Africa - Case study Africa occupies a marginal place in world trade. Promote and diversify the exports of the African countries, in particular for the agricultural products, seems essential. However, the exporters meet a certain number of obstacles to the development of their trade: availability and cost of the air and maritime transport, lack of adapted infrastructures of communication and handling, difficulties of access to the commercial credits and to the information, lack of technical support, necessity to promote its products on the regional and international markets... So, the African exporters must confront this multiple problems handicapping their capacity to present a regular offer of quality and to penetrate the international markets. This study permits to approach the African context of exports of agricultural products by analyzing two systems of support to exports of fruit and vegetables: the Centre Technique Horticole d’Antananarivo (CTHA) in Madagascar and the Sénégalaise d’Exportation de Produits Agricoles et de Services (SEPAS) in Senegal. The aim of the study is to analyze how these two professional associations answer to the needs of their members and how they fit into a global framework of promotion and access of the African foodstuffs on the North and South markets.
