This article from the newspaper "Chemistry World" gives us evidence for water on the moon. Even if the amount of water on it is very small, it is potentially useful for astronauts. To detect the presence or absence of water on the lunar surface, scientists have used a method of spectroscopy by infrared using wavelengths that detect molecules hydroxide and water. In analyzing collected data, scientists have not only noticed the presence of water but also observed changes related to time of day. These findings add weight to the “solar wind theory”. Indeed, this theory suggests that when the surface of the moon is subject to hydrogen in the solar wind, the oxygen present in the mineral molecule is transformed into hydroxide and water. But despite the enthusiasm of the scientific community, the observed quantities are much smaller than the hottest desert on earth.

The article comes from a journal called "The world of Chemistry" and it talks about the evidence of water on the moon. Even if the amount of water on the moon is very small, it's considered potentially useful for astronauts. To detect the presence of water of the absence of water on the lunar surface, the scientistes used a method of spetroscopy through which the use of infrared wavelengths that can detect molecules of hydroxide and water are used. When analyzing their collected data, scientists had not only observed the presence of water but noted changes related to the time of day. These findings add weight to the "solar wind theory." This theory suggests that when the surface of the moon is subject to hydrogen contained in the solar winds, the oxygen present in the molecules of the lunar minerals is transformed into hydroxide and water. However, despite the enthusiasm of the scientific community, the observed quantities are much smaller than the driest desert on earth.
