To Lina: The equivalent expression in Portuguese is “ter orelhas de abanador” or “ter orelhas de abano”.

Beyond some expressions that we have such as “Aldrabão” or “Faroleiro”, we use also “Parlapatão” (Parla – may have been derived from your french verb “parler” and “patão” – an augmentative suffix which means that the person speaks a lot and in a "persuasive" way) that means “Encroyeur”.

I see a “Baratineur” like someone who has the power of speech to get something from a person. In Portuguese we say that he has a “grande lábia”.

To Nallatu: Yes, of course we do . The biblical equivalent expression is “Lavar daí as suas mãos”.

We also have another expression with the same meaning: “Sacudir a água do capote” that we can translate in English to “To shake the dust from/off one´s feet”. In fact, this expression was adapted from Jesus advice’s to his disciples quoted in Matthew and other Gospels. Do you have it in French? (I haven´t got time to search for... I have some work to do ).

See you both!
