Did you ever hear that?

English: It is better to know friend's wife, than friend of own wife.

Slovenian: Bolje je spoznati prijateljevo ženo, kot prijatelja od žene.

i've heard it first time.And i found it really interesting.Now,i am trying to get the main meaning of it..
