Default Cheap

In a discussion with some linguists, we noticed that French didn't have a one word translation for the word "cheap". In that case, yous "not expensive" or "little expensive". As it was the only language we knew, where this word is missing (if you except, that Bulgarian and Romanian imported the word from Greek), I just wanted to know how it was in your language.

And if someone possibly had an explenation...

Hello!

The translation of "bon marché" or "cheap" into Portuguese is "barato". We also have only one word.

I guess French is an exception.

Bye!

Hey

despite I am not italian I think that italian looks pretty much like french I don't see a widely used word to mean cheap. Most of the time italians use "poco caro" o "economico"... "a poco prezzo" etc...

would italian be another exception?
celle qui confirme la regle?

Anyway hope a native italian can confirm this

Hi again!

In Spanish we can translate it by "barato" as well.

I still don´t find an explanation to "bon marché" ... I would like to know it .

Pherhaps our latinists members could help here.

Bye!
