I have recently survived a wreck that should have killed me or at the least crippled me. Yet I walked away. I'm very fortunate to be alive and have learned to live my life with a much more positive outlook. I would like to comemorate this experience with a tatoo. I'm interested in it being in another language but have not decided. I would like it to say
- Live for today or - Live with no regrets or -Sieze the day or - Live life to its fullest or - Everything happens for a reason if you have any samples of what these sayings may look like in another language I would greatly appreciate it. I'm open to anything, or even if you have a better quote to suite my experience. Thanks |

Hello Hannah,
If I were you I would choose Latin. Once upon a time Latin was as important as English is nowadays. Although letters written in cyrillic are pretty I would still choose Latin because Latin is no longer the native language of anyone. Here are your phrases in Latin: Vive in diem. Live for today. Sine ullo desiderio vive. Live with no regrets. Carpe diem. Seize the day. Vive ut vivas. Live life to its fullest. (Literally "live that you may live", meaning you should live a very full life, without fear of possible future consequences.) Quadam de causa omnia eveniunt. Everything happens for a reason. Nihil sine causa. Nothing without a reason, a quotation from Cicero's De Natura Deorum (On the Nature of the Gods) where evenit (happens) is understood, because it's not necessary to the comprehension. If you wonder why "happens" is referred to both as eveniunt and evenit it's because omnia is a plural noun (everything, all things) and nihil (nothing) is a singular noun so that's why the verb has different endings. |

Dear Hannah,
In Indonesian, your phrases will be: - Hidup untuk hari ini. Live for today. - Hidup tanpa rasa sesal. Live for no regrets. - Genggam hari-harimu. Seize the day. - Hiduplah sampai waktumu tiba. Live life to its fullest. - Semua pasti ada hikmahnya. Everything happens for a reason. And in Javanese, those will be: - Urip kanggo dina iki. Live for today. - Urip tanpa rasa gela. Live for no regrets. - Isi dina-dinamu. Seize the day. - Uripa nganti wayahmu teka. Live life to its fullest. - Kabeh mesthi ana mulabukane. Everything happens for a reason. Hope it helps you!
