fitiavana is an unknown character at this point
![]() |
septimus is latin and it means "the 7th (child)", i think that's quite rare these days because 1) there aren't that many peolple anymore getting seven or more children 2) latin isn't spoken anymore, execept the vatican state - and there, the catholic priests can't have families and children...
concerning gottlieb, that's a fusion of the words "gott" (god) and "lieb" (liebe means love), there exist different opinions if gottlieb means "loved by god", "he loves god", "love god!" or all of it... renate is used in germany but its origin are latin, it means "re-born" from re and nascere. the first names i prefer are fitiavana for a girl (now you know why i chose that name in the forum), it's malagasy and means "love", and joão for a boy, that's portuguese. what i also like for a girl is amarilis, i dont know where it comes from but i know a cuban lady called like that.

Thanks for the detailed explanations you gave me, that was nice of you, for septimus I thought it means the 7th, like for kings or emperors, and I have a roman coin of septemus severus...
amarilis sounds like a type of flowers, and it sound poetic as well.

A Latin name PRISCILLA - it is the name of my oldest daughter.
CARLOS ALBERTO = Spanish - it is the name of my second son. NATASHA (female) and SASHA (a male name) ..I am not sure if they`re Russian. Very beautitul ones. SÉRGIO - male name very used in Brazil and Italy, but I guess it comes from the Russian language. Last edited by Nana_Brazil; 06-12-2005 at 03:57 PM. |

Yes, Natasha and Sasha are Russian. I think we talked about this already, these aren't the official names, but the way people are called. Sasha (Саша ) can be for men or women, the official name is either Alexander (Александер ) or Alexaxandra (Александра ). For Natasha (Наташа ) is the diminutive of Natalya (Наталья ), I believe.
