Ukrainian words...
Hello. I need to translate a few English words to Ukrainian. I am decorating Pysanky and I want some Ukrainian words to decorate them.
Also, is there anyone who knows Ukrainian words that are put on Easter eggs, traditionally? Truth Good Fortune Peace Love Long Life Can you translate into script characters? That is, the written Ukrainian as apposed to the formal Ukrainian? Thank you -DanielleUSA |

Hi, Danielle!
As far as I know traditional pysanka isn't decorated with words. Usually special graphical symbols are drawn on pysanky which bear certain meanings like health, wealth, long life, sun-light, etc. For more info see Easter-eggs of Gutsulshchina and Pokuttja and Ïèñàíêè ç ãóöóëüñüêèì îðíàìåíòîì. The words which you give are translated as following: Правда Успіх Злагода Любов Довге життя Good Luck! |
