Help me out?

Hello I am told that i am Ukranian on both sides of the family ive try'd searching up both my last names and have found no success. Maybe someone here can tell me if my last names of Ukranian Origin.

Batuik,Cherny Both are supposibly of Ukranian Origin can you help ?

It is hard to say, since both apparently were distorted after anglicization.
Batuik - doesn't even sound Ukrainian. Maybe Batiuk? If so, it must be Ukrainian.

Cherny - this last name is likely to be of Slavic origin, specifically Russian. If the original last name was Chorny or Cherniy, it may be Ukrainian as well.
