Default Interjections in your language

These are very important to know too.

what you say when you see something unfolding, like

Hey!

Wow!

Ouch!

Oops!

Whatta...?

Come on!

Ah! Oh!

Bla-bla-bla, etc.

Sounds imitating animals, birds, or anything happening, or anything about to happen like ... BOOM! or phew-phew, oink-oink??

I will add my own Qazaq interjections later, that's very difficult for me too

Hi,

It´s a very interesting topic. Interjections can really cause some problems in translation, for instance. It´s always a bit hard to choose the right one and sometimes we get stucked into difficult ones.

In Portuguese, it came me up these simple ones (actually, some of them aren´t interjections, but I would call them exclamations):

Ai or Ui, que dor! (Ouch, what a pain!)
Meu Deus! Tenho que ir embora. (Gosh! I have to leave now.)
Ah, antes que eu me esqueça. (Ah, before I forget.)
Ups... enganei-me! (Oups... I was wrong!)
Boom! (Kabbom!)
Raios! C´um raio! (Damn!)
Merda! (Shit!)
Uau! (Wow!)
Hurra (Hurrah!)
Nem pensar! (No way!)

Bye!

sflor

Thank you, Anarvorig and Sflor,
you really made me happy today!

I will study all your interjections. Now that Anarvorig added more explanations.

You know Qazaqs, we have very few interjections.

The most wide spread is Oybay!

Very easy to remember, and it is used almost in every situation.

Also we have lots interjections connected to word Allah, some say Astaprallah comes from Astaghfirallah, forgive me my God!!!

But I agree with Sflor also that one should study the proper use of interjections to avoid confusion
