Languages don't die : they evoluate and are progressively transformed until a new language appears.
Strictly speaking, Latin is not dead, for instance : it still lives in French, Spanish, Italian, Romanian, etc. When one studies it and speaks all these languages, it is quite clear. |

Not understand them without being taught, for Latin and Spanish, French, etc. are not the same, but it's easier to learn them.
