There is an idiomatic expression for VOMIT, I think with throw, something like throw the cat, but I want to be sure, it is used in Catcher in the Rye, Salinger, so it might be AmE, any native speaking linguists, or students send me bell-rings please

TO VOMIT:
1.To eject part or all of the contents of the stomach through the mouth, usually in a series of involuntary spasmic movements. 2. To be discharged forcefully and abundantly; spew or gush: The dike burst, and the floodwaters vomited forth. |

VOMIT: in russian is ' virvat' edu" - throw up food from the bottom of your stomack... that's what drunks do when they overindulge. Vomit has force it it - it comes out with force, this is not simply gag...

This is very interesting debate actually. Yes, in Russian it is vyrvat in the native spelling вырвать, but also strangely enough it has similar root with word to tear or to rip???
In my language it has similar root with word bird "qus" but actual vomiting is "qusu" SO when you say I vomited it is equal to I became bird ??? ![]() |
