Default Music

Hi
I'm Victor from Mexico. I would like to know I bit more about music of other countries, specially the music that is popular rigth now and some popular artists and songs.

Here in Mexico (at least in the nort of mexico) the music that is most heard is reggaeton, I'm not sure it is popular in the rest of the world but is a kind of latin hip-hop, is mostly what you hear in the clubs. Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Rakim & Ken-Y, Wisin & Yandel, and Match & Daddy are good examples of these music. The most popular by the moment is called "Pasame la botella" by Match & Daddy.

Also pop/rock music is heard almost everywhere. Groups like RBD, Reik, Motel, Sin Bandera are very popular here. As I really dont like these kind of music I dont really know any song by them.

Anyway, even tough most of the music that we hear here in Mexico is influenced by United States music (Reggaeton is porto rican and rock/pop is like amerian rock/pop) we still listen some music of our own. We mainly listen Corridos (Song that tell stories about popular persons, specially drug dealers), Rancheras (a kind of ballad, it means "ranch music"), Duranguenses, Banda and Huapangos. These kind of music is also popular in the clubs and wherever there is drunk people. It is really easy to dance and to sing, maybe that is why it is so popular with drunk people. Some of the most popular band are El Recodo, German Lizarraga, Los Tigres del Norte, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Intocable, El Coyote y su Banda Tierrasanta, Vicente Fernandez, Alejandro Fernandez, Valentin Elizalde, among many many others. Some popular songs are "Camaron Pelao" by El Recodo, "Venadito" by Valentin Elizalde, "Mujeres Divinas" by Vicente Fernandez and "Te Vas a Arrepentir" by K Paz de la Sierra. An old Corrido that I really like is "Aguila Blanca" by Los Tucanes de Tijuana.

That is mostly what we hear where I live, now I would like to know a little more about music in your countries
