State nickname: The Golden state;This is often thought to be a reference to California's 1849 Gold Rush but is in fact reference to the native grasses that turn a golden color during the summer season.

Abbreviation: the postal abbreviation is CA and the Press Official abbreviation is Calif.

I myself, have never been even though I am a resident of the U.S. (Kansas/Missouri to be exact) I think the beaches would be something awesome to see.

Has anybody here been to Alcatraz?
It´s a really impressive place. Just the boat trip to get to the island is a speacial feeling.

Yup! I‘ve been around the area, it’s unique and mysterious, and has the person that no one could ever escape, it’s unique, and the sea there is great
