Jushu,
It is not the place for this type of comment here!... Send me a private mail if you wish to continue this discussion. By the way, Nopoleon code of laws is not something to be set aside in the history of France. Popodo Last edited by Popodo; 08-27-2005 at 11:56 PM. |

His code of laws was completely partial... Why then?
It completely disregarded women : thanks to the wonderful progress achieved by the Napoleonian code of laws, women had suddenly fewer rights than in the Renaissance. (It is said it was a gay who wrote the articles related to family and he (sorry, his name escapes me) was said to be very misogyneous). The legislation concerning bequeath and inheritance has been completely perverted, only to serve Napoleon's family's interests. Anyway, someone would have created a code of law anytime after his reign. And you didn't answer my question : what makes you think that monarchy is a better regime? |

Hi,
Are you talking of Cambacérès? Sure that would have been written. But that was ahead of time! Don't think of it with our mentality! And the sewage system of Paris? He was an outstanding man that made Europe dream about (the Romantics) in the XVIIIth and a lot is still written about him. 2 milions men dead? How many dead for: Gengis Khan, Caesar, Alexander the Great...? It's not for us to dispute these facts... I'm not saying that monarchy is better; it's a matter of point of view. I just think that a state should be impersonated, whoever it is. I'm not in favour of democracy because I don't like lies, dishonesty and above all hyprocrisy (tools that belong to politics). Hej,
Hi, Are you talking of Cambacérès? Yes! Sure that would have been written. But that was ahead of time! Don't think of it with our mentality! He has nothing but got inspired from the Ancient Romans, nothing more. Were the Romans ahead of time? That is your view. And the sewage system of Paris? Do you really think that HE was the one who first thought of it, or even mastered the sewage system erection??? He was an outstanding man that made Europe dream about (the Romantics) in the XVIIIth and a lot is still written about him. .... and that's really a pity. 2 milions men dead? How many dead for: Gengis Khan, Caesar, Alexander the Great...? I never said I was a Ceasar or an Alexander freak... I just that a guy like Nap should be less worshipped that we do in France... I mean : not forgotten, but we should more ponder what he's done. You just have to lie, seem honest and altruist just to get to the top... You play a role until you win... and you delude dumb people into thinking their future will be better whereas you pretty know you don't give a damn about it. That's large-scale democracy... |
