And what's Sami? Sami is an Arabic name, that means : high, noble
![]() How does Sami sound like? Is it like Finnish? Or is it as different from Finnish as Berber is it from Arabic? |

the language sounds a bit like finnish.. someone who doesn't speak good finnish wouldn't recognise it as a different language lol. i remember a hungarian girl who was learning finnish. she asked me to write up lyrics of some finnish song.. but the song was in sami so it's like with arabic and berber. but is more similar to finnish than berber is to arabic. i thought of taking it in university :P as it's the third spoken language here.sami and finnish are both finno-ugric (or what was the name of the group) languages.. isn't berber semitic?

Jonne,
Wherever I go in the world (and I travel weekly), meeting Finns always creates a warm neighbourly feeling. Perhaps because Estonia and Finland are both small countries and the languages are related. Just returned from Thailand. Viva Finlandia! |
