I guess it is more something I 'think', as you might say, after comparing the grammar of languages like Russian, Polish, Romanian and Spanish. But as I've been confronted to several romance and slavic languages (in linguistics or litterature departements), it might have some better background, than just intuition. (Btw. I confess I might have better spoken of 'southern slavic' than 'bulgarian' influence.)

I think that romanian really has bulgarian influences, but russian to. I can't say which is more present.....
Slavic, turkish, italian, obviously french...is there a romanian language at all? or is just a "pelle-melle" pf all those languages

Well, I was just making a difference between the influences on gramar (romance origine, with mainly balkanic elements, as in Bulgarian or Albanian, but hes are not slavic traits), and on vocabulary (also mainly latin origin with neologisms from various new romance languages, rather few words from Dacian, the main other foreign influences being slavic, from Bulgarian and/or Serbo-croation at first, rather from Russian for late influences...).
I could get into examples if you want, if anyone cares...

Yes, please, It will be nice to see some examples.
In some cases I have doubt where from a word came, as I think looks like bulgarian, but noboby says it comes from that language...

Well, I'll have to try to find the examples from memory. (I don't know when I'll be on the net with my books at hand.)

For the grammatical part, the romance origin is the easiest to see in conjugation. Actually through the tempora (same times and modes than in other romance languages, no 'perfective' and 'inperfective' like in slavic languages). The most clear thing is the use the subjuncive. Loss of time concordance is rather a blkanic trait.
An other element is the absolute lack of real neutral gender, as a gender apart from masculine and feminine (like the neutral gender in German, or in the Slavic languages).
The usual balkanic traits are loss of time concordance (as said), definite article at the end of the word (unlike in the scandinavian languages, it is not neceseraly on the substantive), or confusion in nominative - accusative, and in dative - genitive, doubling of the object through pronoun (îl vãd pe fratele meu)... here for what I could remember straight away.

On vocabulary, it might be harder without a book at hand...
Well, the two definite southern slavic words I coukd quote would be 'glas' (voice, 'glas' in Bulgarian, 'golos' in russian, en français, on parle du 'traitement des diphtongues à second élément liquide') and 'maica'. I'd have to get more, indeed. But the historical influence was because of religion, I guess. Bulgarians where the first neighbour to adopt the Christian Religion, and you note, that now, Romania is Orthodox like Bulgaria, and not Catholic like Hungary... The problem is, that you have often two words (paradis - rai), even if they don't have the exact same meaning (cf.: 'german' & 'nemteste').
For newer words from romance languages, look at words like 'bagaj'...
Well, I'll really have to get a book for a serious number of examples. (I can hardly get more than one or two, at least for the other languages... 'oras' for Hungarian, 'drum' like in Bulgarian from Greek, 'tutun' from Turkish...)

But if you have some word that might come from Bulgarian, just post, we might check. (Though it is no always obvious. I mean 'a citi' is clearly slavic, but might be rather hard to define more precisely without some rather arge research.)
