Turkey
Today I’m talking about Turkey. It’s not today’s Turkey in Mediterranean, but the Greater Turkey and its origin in Asia. Turkey is first recorded in Chinese Wei Dynasty(南朝北魏), when it came from a branch of Xiongnu(匈奴, a northwestern Chinese race very long before since Chinse Qin秦 Dynasty, and the race is known as Huno in Gebon’s The Decline and Fall of Roman Empire), their first ancestors were separated from Huno, and nurtured by a wolf. Then they several hundreds of persons lived in cave of a hill looking like兜鍪(armored helmet in cool weapon times), so from then on they called themselves as Turkey. As a small race, they were disturbed by Wei armies at the border of China at that time. In the history, Huno was lasting for more than one thousand years until China Tang Dynasty. Then Huno disappeared in China official records. But in fact they did not die, they just moved out. At the time when Huno’s influence died away, its former branch Turkey, along with Huno immigration in seeking more fertile grassland, went to today’s middle-east and conquered that region. They formed an Empire of Turkey. In world history, that Turkey is also called West Huno, showing different from East Huno—the one lived in today’s Xinjiang and Ningxia provices of China. Turkey is an Asian nation from Xinjiang, China. They once conquered the land of Arab, but again were re-conquered by Arab. Today, most Turkish people believe in the same religion as the Arabic, they use almost the same language, so in today’s Chinese eyes, Turkish and Arabic are the same conception (though actually different), because they look alike, speak alike and live in the same Muslim regions stretching from Xinjiang to North Africa, plus Southeast Asia. As Salim said, they are mixed with Chinese Russian and Tibetan, and in Xinjiang, the Turkish people look more like European because of their blue eyes and white skin. In Chinese North and West, there are many nomadic nations, like Mongol, Manchu, Turkish, and Tibetan, and in Chinese history, there are Loulan樓蘭, Huihu回鶻, Jin金, Liao遼, Nüzhen女真, Qidan契丹, Xianbei鮮卑, and Qiang羌… As time goes, some nations were integrated into Chinese Han and formed the united Han nation, some immigrated to the Middle East to continue their nomadic life. Tibetan language is very similar to Turkish and Arabic in grammar, although different in appearance. I saw those Turkish dictionary and Tibetan dictionary in bookstore, and in my lifetime, l’ll translate the Tibetan language to you and compile the same grammar system as complete as Arabic. But first, I’ll decide to learn Chinese Turkish (the said Uygur)first, because my Turkish is spoken by Chinese Uygur people in Xinjiang, they are spelled in Arabic, in this way, I’ll learn Tibetan to compare these 3 languages. Just interesting! I’m not a Mongol or Manchu, if I were, I would tell you that in fact Mogol and Manchu languages are also nomadic languages which I called desert language, distinct to sea language and continental language (my theory of languages division into 3). The Attached will be the Turkey’s Immigrant Route in history: Last edited by Mumian; 07-04-2005 at 10:16 AM. |
