It would be my pleasure to visit China. An uncle of mine spent 2 years in Beijing learning Chinese. However I don't think a visit to China is within my budget, at least not for a few years.

This may sound like a silly question, but does anyone speak Manchurian anymore? Of course a few scholars may, but are there audio tapes or CD's available of the language?

I'd love to see the script as well. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

I'm interested in learning Chinese as well, but the writing overwhelms me. Most of my older relatives can read Chinese and a few are accomplished caligraphers.

So I will search some CD or other sound files of Manchu language, but surely they are existing this time being. Manchu alphabet and words is quite common, I will then Google some for you? ok?

Thank you for the link. I'm curious about what the Chinese in the thread are saying about Manchu. Is there interest in learning the language?

No, they just want to know the phonetic features of Manchu language, then the topic was expanded to the language as a whole. But to you, you have to learn Chinese first for at least being able to read.
