***There are many languages in the world: English French and so on. But it takes people much time to translate. It's meaningless, It's a waste of time and resourse. The world is become smaller, we must communicate with foreigners. But language differences makes people communicate diffcult.
***But now the most people in world can speak English. So I think we should speak English only. I think many people will absolutely object. But I don't think that's wrong. Don't be chauvinist. Chauvinism and internationalism,which is more impotant? Which is greater? The world is become smaller. Mankind will united together. Human beings will speak only one language.
***Many wars result in race conflict. Race difference result in different languages. If we speak English only, The world will be peacer.
***In many languages, English is the most impotant language. It surmounts any other language. So let's speak English only,Don't be chauvinist, If we had done that, the world will be more wonderful.
***I am a Afghanistani. I have known the cruel of wars. I can speak Afghanistani language, but I don't like Afghanistani language. Because it just a language of a country, not the world. Few people know Afghanistani language. But I like to speak English.
***Because of English, I can go around the world. Because of English, I can communicate with the people around the world. Because of English, I can know much knowledge.
***Let's speak English only, because it's the best language of the world

Well Papa,
If we do communicate only in English, what will become of these forums??
I believe that learning any regional/local language enriches us with a completely new culture, broadens our perspective and strikes a chord with the native. And I donot think that speaking English makes me knowledgeable or smart.

Hi,
Of course ,if we all speak english communication will be easier,but language is not only for communication.
Be careful don't forget or underestimate your mother tongue,you'll be in a strange situation where you 'll be able to communicate with the whole world but not with your compatriots or neighbours.

I agree with Papa that the world needs to communicate in one language, it desn't matter if it's english, esperanto, Spanish....the most important is to speak one language. Let's be more realistic, we have more challenges to worry about than translating texts of other people we don't speak their language, and struggle with linguistic misunderstanding, language barrier can be an obstacle for humanity developement, students trying to go to technical schools in other countries spend a part of their life learning the language of the country they traveled to instead of learning what they can offer to the world, trillions of dollars are spent every year for translations and trillions of hours wasted for the same thing, trying to learn the puzzles (languages) of others is a good thing but that's not what the world needs this time, there are many important things that the world needs than wasting time trying to translate what the other part of the word wanted to say, that time should be spared to understand what good we can do to our world.
In short there are two choices, either the whole world should speak one language (a universal language), or that each individual should speak at least five languages to be able to communicate with eachother easily. the first choice would save the humanity a lot of time which can be wasted in learning all these languages or translating to others the languages they don't speak...

I can't agree with you all. I think mother tongue is very important for every patriot. If we forget about mother tongue... it's like forget about home. History, culture, art - isn't it for you important?

Moreover, literature is most beautiful in language, in which it is written.

it's not that complicated, if you speak a universal language is going to help the world come much closer to eachother, and understand eachother more, it doesn't mean that if you speak a universal language that you will forget your history and culture. and that's just my opinion.
