Hi Róisín
hello is 'Dia duit' (to one person) or Dia daoibh (to more than one) My name is Róisín Maighréad Barker is 'Róisin Maighréad Barker is ainm dom' I am learning (to speak) Irish: Tá mé ag foghlaim Gaeilge The last one is difficult, cos here in Ireland we don't have grades in school. To say you are in 6th class (about 12 years old) is 'Tá mé sa séú rang' ![]() |

Oh, the suspense! And what did he say?!?! (Then all of our Irish-Gaelic speakers can sprout "congratulations!" in Gaelic harmony! ) |

Oh, I am SO happy for you, Feebee, may you be blessed with a long, happy and successful life together (I leave off "fruitful" because, if you wish for children, I wish for them for you, but "fruitful" might mean twenty-seven children, and then you might see my blessing as a curse.
) May your marriage be filled with love and laughter (both essential) may you forever be one another's best friends and first loyalties.Oh, I am going to get sniffly... I adore happy weddings, and Irish weddings are some of the most amazing blow-outs I have ever attended (the last one made me think the *entire* party - guests included - might all need liver transplants, and people danced until their feet swelled. )I will leave it to my across-the-North-Sea brethern (my Gran was a Scot) to offer appropriate felicitations and congratulations in Irish-Gaelic, for I can only wax effusive in English and *Continental* European languages (I once said "European," having erroneously considered Gaelic not European and was promptly set straight. )I wish you every happiness, every good thing, and a long life together filled with laughter, loyalty, and, of course, love. ![]() |

unfortunately, this looks like nonsense to me - I would be sceptical of any Wicca material claiming to be Irish to be honest. It could be Scottish Gaelic, but I can't make head nor tail of it I'm afraid. Sorry! Darrach |
