english to irish translation! - Page 4

Hmm... poems don't translate well at all I'm afraid. I can translate it (with a bit of tweaking) but it will lose all it's sense of poetry, rhythm, etc...

Chomh dorcha leis an Mhuir Mharbh (as dark as the dead sea)
Chomh neamhbhásmhar le sí* (as immortal as an elf*)
Chomh fuar le h-iolar (as cold as an eagle)
Chomh daortha le príosúnach (as doomed as a prisoner)
?????? (I don't understand this part "Legend like a myte")

Fiachtar le naimhde (hunted by enemies)
Agus tagtha suas leis an t-am atá thart go luath (and caught up with the time that is finished** soon)
Níl aon bealach amach (there's no way out)
Níl ach bealach isteach (there's only a way in)

*There are no 'elves' in Irish/Celtic tradition, only the 'sí' or fairies. The elf is from Germanic tradition, I think.
** There is no word for the past in Irish - you have to use a phrase, such as the old-times, that times that are over, the time that is spent

On One Saturday Night i Was at home and i was watching the football match between Liverpool and Manchseter United . The match had started at 7:30 pm and it as supposed to end at 9:10 the amtch had been on twenty two mins and it was 2-1 to manchester. Liverpool were goig down bad and man u were going up very fast. The 1st half had ended and the liverpool manger was going mad at the team because they were not playing there best but when the second half started and they got out on the pitch thy were playing like superstars the were great 5 mins till the end and liverpool won by 4-2 gwen the pool. the ma of the match got given to Gerrard cause he kept the liverpool together. I am glad that i sted in to watch that match it was a very good match

if you nead clarity on what a portion of the sentences is supposed to mean or the essence of it, let me know! its from King Kong by peter jackson. Jack Black says is towards the end as Kong is chained on stage if that reference helps.
