I was wondering if anyone would be willing to translate a poem I wrote from English into Esperanto. I'm just kind of curious as to how it would look in another language. It might be kind of hard, with some rare vocabulary, but the translation does not need to be 100% perfect. I'll post the poem here, and if anyone can help, please e-mail me at blackmouse.of.the.north@gmail.com. Thanks so much!
-Zena Comely in the shadows, unsightly in the light The shrill, sad descending note of a crying string Pierce the chemicals in my head, run them flat Draw feeling like blood, I want to be anemic Low spirit voice, voice of truth, voice of sand And stone, voice that dries the ocean Leaving the me and the salt behind Sanction the ghosts, confirm them, they exist They call to me, you purr like a mother Comely in the shadows, unsightly in the light I said, and wept into the music And you did nothing, you could not But you purred to me like a mother And comforted me with the lowness Of your dark pipe voice These are the sacrosanct truths But to hear the sound and not the message To turn from the light and not see by it To sob and sob and not know why There is no justification for this torture That is how I know there is no torture And no torturer Just your dark pipe voice As I wonder on the crazy edge Of these sacrosanct truths |

Very beautiful poem, even if I think I coudn't keep in my translation much of his beauty. I just tried to keep the meaning of the text, as I knew that it would be above my strength to rewrite its rythm and sounds (and I wouldn't have enough time, anyway). I just hope it is readable
![]() I'm not completely sure there are no mistakes in the understanding, but I think that the meaning should be correct, for the most part at least. Anyway, if you think I misunderstood some passage, just tell me so, I'll be glad (to try) to correct it. Well, have a nice reading! (NB : I put x to replace the accents of the Esperanto alphabet : jx, ux, cx, gx, sx) Here is the version in esperanto : (No title ?)

Min amas vi (se estas vi kiu amas min - if you love ->me) because of that "n" you can say all of these ways, and it's the same meaning: 1. Mi amas vin 2. Mi vin amas 3. Amas mi vin 4. Amas vin mi 5. Vin amas mi 6. Vin mi amas ![]() that can help sometimes in literature(poems) to enrich the style (there are some more possibilities to express the same thing by changing noon into verb, etc. ...) |

Interalie. (you are a good person, but I don't love you).

Mi supozas ke tie la diferenco estas simila al Angla...Vi sxatas vian amikojn, sed vi ne amas ilin...(Kaj por via frazo, "mi nur SXATAS vin, sed ne amas" mi ne pensas ke vi bezonas la vorto "sed" cxar vi havas "nur"..."I only like you, but not love you" vs. "I only like you, not love you")
...Sed mia gramatiko versxajne estas tre mala, do vi eble volos ignori mi...XD |
