I manage 170 translators for the PC-BSD free operating system project. It's a lot of work, as translations are done using Qt Linguist, with .ts files.
What I'd like is a server-side application where translators can log in, and translate into their own language using a form and saving their translations. Developers could import/export language files also. Is there an application that could do that? In PHP/MySQL if possible Thanks! |

I don't know if an application like this one exists... It's really special...
Maybe if anyone here knows the language PHP or MySQL, he could help you with a database. I will contact a friend by mail, he knows the language MySQL and made a database for his job... not concerning translation but maybe it can be modified to help you ![]() You could just explain me with details what you would like (in French for him) or English ![]() Window 1 : User logs in Window 2 : the list of your documents to translate with just 3 columns : title / original language / language to translate... maybe another with the size of the document... Selection of a document Translation in a window with 2 cases for the 2 languages... A button to valid the end of the translation Return to the window 2 and (for example : the title of the document changes when the translation is over) Many options could be added like "send document translated"... Just tell me what you want and maybe I could help you if my friend undestand what you want See you soon ![]()

I just read the quick guide 4Go is enough ![]() I think with this guide, I will undestand basic English, I think it was written for dummies See you soon

Hi,
There is an open-source based translation management system called "]project-open[" (]project-open[ - Open Source Solution for Project Management, SourceForge.net: ]project-open[ for download). Basically, the system allows you to define a list of tasks (documents to be translated) and users (the translators). Then assign translators to documents, and: There you go! The translators will see their assigned tasks when they logon to the system. Bests, Frank |
