Il y a un mot allemand "Schlammassel" qui se prononce presque pareil (je suppose lol) - et qui veut dire de profondes difficultés.
Par exemple qch comme si je dis à quelqu'un qch que je n'aurais pas dû dire et que quelqu'un a de graves problèmes à cause de ma bavarderie et comme ca moi-même aussi.

Oui, Daniela, j'ai entendu ce mot allemand pareil aussi. Voici mon explication preferee du mot "shlimazl": on traite de "shlemiel" quelqu'un qui verse une tasse de la soupe chaude sur les genoux d'un autre, tandisque la personne brulee par la soupe chaude ait de "shlimazl!" (en autres mots, il lui manque du pot!) L'expression yiddish alliee "mazltov" veut dire "sante! prost!"

I'd say that "to have the blues" means more to be sad or depressed, kind of like "avoir le cafard in French," whereas shlimazl means bad luck, "malheur, malchance"...of course if you have a lot of "shlimazl" all the time, you could very easily also have the blues because of it, but I don't think they have quite the same shade of meaning.
