Salam Salim and Asminha,

The same in french language. I remember at least one word in french (of a pretty long list we learned at school at the time) which has arabic roots:
the slang word for (medical) doctor is "toubib".... I haven't kept that list though.

Very interesting, isn't it ? Looking at the list, I do remember several words, now. You wouldn't by any chance have the words in arabic alphabet ? I couldn't find them at your language-site . By the way, your site is very instructive.
